NAUX plays music at parties. You can play your first set without an account; after that, NAUX asks you to sign in with Google to keep playing and to save your sets.

What we collect

  • How songs get played. When a host skips a song, drags to a different part of it, or chooses to play it in full, NAUX records which song it was and the time in the song. This is how NAUX learns where each song's best part is.
  • Song requests. The text you type into “Request a song”.
  • A random browser ID. A random code stored in your browser groups one host's actions together. It isn't linked to your name, email or account.
  • Rough location. The city, region and country your connection comes from (worked out from your IP address by our host, Vercel), stored with party feedback and saved sets. Not your exact location; NAUX never asks for GPS.

If you sign in with Google

  • Your Google profile basics: name, email address and profile photo. NAUX asks Google for nothing else: no contacts, no YouTube or Drive access.
  • Your saved sets: the songs played at each party you end while signed in (and which you skipped), your answers to the setup questions, the date and rough location.
  • What you use NAUX for, if you answer the one question after signing in (house parties, DJ, events, venue).

We use this to save your sets and to understand who NAUX is useful for. We don't collect phone numbers or contacts, and we don't sell or share data with advertisers. You can delete any set from My sets, sign out any time, or ask us to delete your account and everything in it.

Stored in your browser

NAUX keeps the random browser ID and a list of your own skips and jumps in your browser's local storage. You can clear it any time by clearing site data for NAUX.

YouTube

NAUX plays music through YouTube's embedded player and uses YouTube API Services. By using NAUX you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service. YouTube's player may use cookies and collect data as described in the Google Privacy Policy. You can review or revoke access at Google's security settings; NAUX never asks for access to your YouTube account; signing in with Google only shares your name, email and photo.

Where it's stored

Party feedback, requests, accounts and saved sets are stored in NAUX's database (Neon, hosted through Vercel). We keep feedback to improve song cuts and the song library, and account data until you ask us to delete it.
